The Chocolate Lovers' Fling will be held on Saturday, February 6 at the Telluride Conference Center (7:30 PM - 11:30PM). This is the annual fund-raiser for the San Miguel Resource Center, our local domestic violence and sexual abuse crisis and counseling center. The "Fling" celebrates chocolate, with most of the local chefs showing off their stuff. It is also regarded as the best dance party of the year: this year's theme is The Love Boat. This is a fun party for the benefit of a cause that is anything but fun: unfortunately, sexual assault and domestic violence are all too real here, and SMRC's work is fundamental to the fabric of our community. I want to highlight one item in particular that will be up for auction at the silent auction. A friend has donated a week in March (14-21) at Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It is the best location in an extraordinary resort: 3 bedrooms/bathrooms, full kitchen, living room/dining room, huge deck, plunge pool, huge view of the Sea of Cortez, waves crashing on the rocks below, etc. It comes with a dedicated concierge, and use of a Suburban while in residence.
