Telluride has recently been in the ski press and will be featured in a new Warren Miller film, called “Wintervention.” You can view a teaser for this film at the following link: http://vimeo.com/14617132.
In the October issue of Powder Magazine, there is a 12-page feature story about Telluride, called “Rising T-Ride: The Second Coming of America’s Greatest Backcountry Resort.” If you’d like a copy of the entire article, send me an email and I will forward you a PDF copy. The article touches on some of Telluride’s colorful history, including the old mining days and the earliest days of the ski mountain, which opened on December 22nd, 1972. The article also mentions that in the three years since Dave Riley, the CEO of the Telluride Ski Resort, came on board, he has opened “more than 350 acres of jaw-dropping sidecountry, increased access to thousands of acres of backcountry and added a lift to access it in a purposeful campaign to restore T-Ride’s reputation as one of the baddest mountains in the West.” The balance of the article offers fantastic photography. As they say, all publicity is good publicity!
